Father charged with neglect after baby’s severe head injury

A man is facing neglect charges for causing near-fatal injuries to his own baby, according to Gibson County, Indiana, sheriff Bruce Vanoven. The child's father, 23-year-old Zachary Rogers, admitted to the injuries and is being held on preliminary charges of neglect resulting in serious bodily injury. The sheriff stated that seeing such an incident occur to an innocent child takes a toll on all involved parties involved. The baby's head injury was nearly fatal. The charges could be elevated as the child recovers.
