A judge has overturned the conviction of Brooklyn man, William Windley, for nearly 20 years after discovering new evidence supporting his innocence. Windley was arrested in 2005 after purchasing a stove for his mother with a stolen money order. The money order had been taken from 70-year-old Gerald Ross by two men who followed him home from a bank and post office. After his arrest, Windley provided prosecutors with information about the men who sold the money order, leading them to confess. Both men are currently serving time for other robberies in Brooklyn. No new charges have been filed in the case.
