AI chatbot privacy ratings for the most popular iPhone apps

A VPN company, Surfshark, has compiled AI chatbot privacy ratings based on the data collection practices of the ten most popular AI chatbots in the App Store. The rankings were determined by the number of data types each app collects and the length of the data kept on servers. The company found that on average, AI chat bots collected 14 types of personal data. The safest way to use a chatbot is via the fallback to ChatGPT, as Apple has negotiated a contract where queries are not allowed to be used as training data.
