Porscha Tynisha Brown, a Department of Defense employee, died mid-flight from acute cardiac failure after a Korean Air flight crew member forgot to attach her mask to an oxygen tank and failed to provide instructions on how to use a defibrillator. The flight was diverted to Osaka, Japan, and Brown was declared dead. The lawsuit alleges that the crew violated company policy by not rendering effective aid and waiting too long to declare a medical emergency. Brown's family is seeking damages from Korean Air, a decision to be made by a jury.
