Jalen Smith, one of the alleged "fixers" in a betting scheme involving NCAA basketball games, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and bribery charges. He was one of 26 people charged, including 20 former college basketball players. The alleged fixers were accused of recruiting players and placing bets on them. Smith allegedly offered payouts if they underperformed during a game, and then the fixers bet against their teams. At least 29 games were affected, with gamblers winning millions of dollars.
