Otsego Story Project website launches to capture area health concerns

The Otsego Story Project has launched a website to collect Otseago area health stories amid concerns of environmental pollution. The stories, which were collected by Mary Zack and a grassroots group called Justice for Osego, were shared through an online survey. The team was awarded a $500,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy to develop digital tools for the project. Zack died from cancer in 2025 at the age of 43. Christina DeGrush, one of the first members of Justice for Omosgo, shared her story of being diagnosed with a Rathke’s cleft cyst in 2009. The project is now accepting more stories from the community.
