NASA has unveiled its largest component of the agency's space launch system rocket for Artemis III, the Artemis III Moon Rocket Stage, in New Orleans. The project was completed without the assistance of New Orleans engineers at the NASA facility in Michoud. The team used advanced welding and electrical work to create the core stage, which is part of the SLS core stage. The general manager at L-3 Harris Stennis Space Center, Mike McDaniel, credits the team effort to build the four RS-25 engines that got Artemis II off the ground. Artemis III is set to send astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft into Earth’s orbit to test the docking abilities of the hope for astronauts to land on the moon in 2028.
