Iranian explosive-laden boats appear to have attacked two fuel tankers in Iraqi waters, setting them ablaze and killing one crew member. This follows the announcement of a massive strategic reserve release aimed at cooling runaway oil prices by the International Economic Co-operation Association (IE). The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) reported that over 1,100 children have been killed or injured in the conflict. The war has also seen ports and cities in the Gulf states and targets in Israel hit by drone and missile barrages from Iran. The United States, Canada, Japan, Italy, and Germany have agreed to provide escort for ships in the Persian Gulf. The U.S. and Israeli officials aim to destroy Iran's nuclear programme and prevent it from projecting force beyond its borders.
