Jeron Tate, an 18-year-old boy, has been charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery in a violent robbery at a dollar store in the Albany Park (17th) District. The robbery allegedly involved Alphanse Talley, 26, who is also accused of fatally shooting Chicago Police Officer John Bartholomew, 38, and critically injuring his partner. Tate was identified as the unknown accomplice in the robbery, which occurred shortly after 8 a.m. last Saturday. The employee, who had just opened the store, was treated for a broken nose and two black eyes. The pair allegedly stole $110 from the employee's purse and then fled on their rented electric scooters. The stolen money had a GPS tracker which led Chicago police to Talley's location.
