Davidson County exempt from TN mandated ICE cooperation, sheriff says

Newly passed legislation by the Tennessee General Assembly requires sheriff's offices to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not apply to Davidson County, according to Sheriff Daron Hall. The legislation requires sheriff’s offices to enter into agreements with ICE, known as 287(g) partnerships, which allows ICE to delegate some limited immigration enforcement to local law enforcement agencies. If a sheriff's office does not comply, state may withhold all state funds. Despite this, Hall maintains that the county continues to cooperate fully with ICE.
