The BBC is planning to make up to 2,000 job cuts in one of its most aggressive cost-cutting efforts yet. The job cuts, which represent roughly one in 10 members of staff across the BBC's licence fee-funded and commercial operations, will be announced in an all-staff call led by Rhodri Talfan Davies, the BBC’s interim director general; CFO Bérangère Michel; and John Curbishley, the corporation’s chief strategy and transformation officer. This comes after the BBC announced plans to reduce its cost base by £500M ($675M) over the next three years, expanding on an existing target of £1.5B.
