President Donald Trump has stated that his focus is on Iran's nuclear capability rather than reopening the Strait of Hormuz, despite the Iranian blockade that has shut down the flow of oil from the region, resulting in higher gas prices as Brent crude oil prices rise. However, he dismissed a report that suggested that he would be open for ending the war even if the strait remained closed. Despite this, Trump stated his sole focus is to ensure Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon and that the U.S. will launch airstrikes on Iranian power plants on April 6. The Pentagon has announced that 11,000 targets have already been destroyed and that an overnight strike near Isfahan, a location of Iran's primary nuclear sites, has been conducted.
