The Capitoline Center in Howard County, Maryland, has been completed after nearly two years of construction and represents a $20 million investment from the county, the state, and federal partners. The Capitoline Centre, located at 8360 Court Avenue, is the site of the former State of Maryland's Circuit Court for Howard County courthouse in historic Ellicott City. The project was supported by funding from the local government, the county's Arts Council, and the first Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Cultural Center, and is expected to attract more people and stimulate the local economy. The name was chosen as the building sits at the top of Capitoline Hill, which is believed to have been influenced by the Roman geography of Ellicot City.
