Lacey Cassidy, a stay-at-home mom from Reading, Pennsylvania, is among the newly uninsured, among others who have cancelled their health insurance. The decision is part of the ongoing fallout from rising insurance premiums and rising costs of mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, childcare, and other daily expenses. Patient advocacy organizations and insurance leaders in Pennsylvania are urging Congress to restore enhanced premium tax credits, which allowed more people to become eligible for financial assistance.
