Denver's professional women's soccer team, Denver Summit, is set to make its home debut against the Washington Spirit at Empower Field at Mile High, likely leading to a record-breaking crowd of 50,000 tickets. The team, which has a history of winning games, is currently ranked 1-1-1 and 2-0 by the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). German forward Melissa Kössler, the league's co-leading scorer, recently became the second player in NWSL history to score three goals in her first three regular-season games. The club will debut without its future talisman, Colorado native Lindsey Heaps, due to her impending arrival in June.
