US airport mania: Travelers face hours-long wait times

Travellers across the US are experiencing long lines at airports due to a partial government shutdown, with some of the worst delays reported in Houston. Nearly 40% of the security staff at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport did not show up for work, the highest rate in the country. The Trump administration has sent hundreds of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ESP) agents to 14 airports across the country to help fill the shortage. The president has also stated that he will send the National Guard if necessary to assist.
