A man was shot to death in a Triad shopping center parking lot in 2025, according to officers from the Thomasville Police Department. The victim was identified as 56-year-old Larry Upchurch. Joshua Elliot has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held in the Davidson County Jail under a $500,000 bond. The incident occurred at a Thomasville Crossing Shopping Center on Oct. 5, 2025. After an investigation, the case was presented to a Davidson County Grand Jury and Elliot turned himself in to authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
