A Bahraini official has stated that a Patriot air defence system intercepted an Iranian drone over a residential neighbourhood on March 9, which differs from the US military's description of the same incident. The official stated that the interception prevented a drone strike and saved lives. The US military had previously stated that an Iranian aircraft had hit a residential building in Manama, causing injuries to 32 civilians. The Ministry of Interior also confirmed that a 29-year-old Bahraini woman was killed and eight people were injured in the incident.
