Rain showers are expected for early Thursday in Connecticut, with a potential change of precipitation due to continued rain and snowfall. WFSB predicts that by late afternoon and evening, temperatures will drop from the 40s into the 30s. The National Weather Service's New York City office reports that temperatures will fall throughout the day and tonight, dipping down to the upper 20s. It predicts that the northwest hills will receive between one and two inches of snow, while the rest of the state could receive a coating to one inch. The weather service issued a special weather statement due to minor flooding anticipated until Saturday morning on the Housatonic River at the Stevenson Dam. Looking ahead, Friday through Sunday appears to be mostly dry, with temperatures expected to remain in the 40S with a chance of rain Friday night and daytime temperatures in the mid-40s.
