The Minnesota National Guard has estimated that its activation during Operation Metro Surge cost the state approximately $5.2 million. The Guard was activated from Jan. 8 to Feb. 25 following the fatal shooting of Renee Good. The cost of the operation is still being assessed. This comes as the state struggles with the impact of the federal government's immigration crackdown.
