A Wichita police detective was seriously injured during the arrest of an 18-year-old man accused of stealing a vehicle. The suspect allegedly resisted officers and the detective was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Charges against the suspect include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony theft and aggravated assault. The stolen vehicle was recovered at a nearby motel.
