Weekend-Long Closure Of LA County Freeway Begins Friday

The 5 Freeway in Los Angeles will be closed for the entire weekend due to construction. The southbound freeway will be reduced to two lanes through the Burbank area and fully shut down overnight. This is part of a 55-hour weekend-long closure planned for spring 2026 as part of the paving project. The work is expected to be completed in summer 2027. Other weekend closures on the 405 Freeway are expected to occur between March 20-23.
