Emaciated dog was left to die in a crate on the side of N.J. road, SPCA says

An animal welfare group has rescued a severely ematired dog, named Firefox, who was left to die on the side of a road in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The dog was unable to walk and had a Body Condition Score of 1, the lowest possible score before death, and his blood sugar level was four times the normal limit. While he is undergoing emergency care and is being monitored 24/7, a donation fund has been established for his recovery.
