Brooklyn hospital EMTs suspended after woman, 44, fatally struck by ambulance

A 44-year-old woman was fatally struck by an ambulance in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn, according to law enforcement sources. The victim was hit as the ambulance was driving westbound on Ave. O and turned left onto Ocean Ave. The ambulance sped off and the woman was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center with severe injuries. Two EMT staff members have been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.
