Sacramento mural honoring Chicano and Indigenous history vandalized before completion

A mural in Sacramento's Southside Park, dedicated to Chicano and Indigenous history, was vandalized before its completion. The Albert M. Rojas Foundation, which was behind the mural, intended to tell the story of late labor organizer Albert M., Rojas, while highlighting other leaders and activists. The foundation was already struggling to raise enough funds to complete the project. The Sacramento Police Department responded to a report of vandalism, believing it was a hate crime.
