Kansas Governor Kelly has issued another disaster declaration for wildland fire potential, as fire weather watch continues. The declaration was announced on March 20 and aims to support local communities with state fire suppression resources. This follows a Red Flag Warning issued across most of Kansas, with a watch lasting until Sunday. The Kansas Division of Management will staff the State Emergency Operations Center with personnel from the Kansas Forest Service and the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Officials are encouraging extreme caution with outdoor activities that could spark a fire.
