Rehab unit plan for old Frenchay Hospital site in Bristol scrapped

The former Frenchay Hospital in Bristol has been axed by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) citing a lack of need for the proposed rehabilitation unit due to a new home-first care plan. The ICB stated that the current number of rehabilitation beds is sufficient to meet the area's demands and that the South Gloucestershire area already has the highest number of beds per population. However, residents have expressed disappointment at the decision, with some arguing that a new facility is no longer necessary.
