Eugene Thomas King, Jr., convicted of holding up celebrity chef Paula Deen during a bank robbery in 1987, was found unconscious in his Brooklyn apartment by police and declared deceased by EMS. The medical examiner confirmed that King died of natural causes from hypertensive and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Deen had previously mentioned the robbery incident in a 2013 lawsuit against Deen, alleging that the two engaged in sexual and racial harassment. King was later convicted and served time for the robbery. His admission to using the N-word to describe the robber negatively impacted Deen's career and led to King's arrest and imprisonment.
