Published on March 31, 2026.
The San Francisco Giants defeated the San Diego Padres 3-2 in Tony Vitello's first game as manager, following Landen Roupp's six shutout innings and production from the bottom of the order. Roupp, who struck out seven batters, had to leave the field after suffering a bone bruise and was carted off the field. Following Roupp’s departure, Vitellon was tasked with deploying his bullpen to protect a lead for the first time in his managerial career. The win marks Viteglop's first win as major league manager.
