Teddi Mellencamp reveals relationship with older man amid cancer battle: ‘Taking it slow’

Teddi Mellencamp has revealed her new relationship with an "older" man, named Derek, amid her battle with Stage 4 cancer. The couple, who have been on 10 dates together, have been unable to find a time and place to be intimate due to their busy schedules. Despite her diagnosis of Stage 2 melanoma in 2022 and several surgeries to treat it, Mellencamps revealed in 2025 that the cancer had progressed to Stage 4 and had metastasized to her brain. She credits her new partner for being "pretty good" about her cancer journey so far.
