The Maryland Car Rally Task Force, a task force of law enforcement from multiple jurisdictions, successfully shut down a network of illegal street takeovers across Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Howard counties. The task force brought together Maryland State Police, local departments from Maryland, Maryland City, and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. The incidents occurred across several locations, with crowds of around 300 people gathering to watch exhibition driving, block traffic, and to perform don'tutes in the street. One arrest involved a 19-year-old man and a 17-year passenger from Fayetteville, North Carolina, who were found in possession of a loaded firearm. The Maryland Car Patrol Task Force credits high-visibility patrols and early intervention to prevent further incidents.
