Edward Gideon Melroe, a 40-year-old Moorhead man, is facing felony charges for allegedly swinging a sword at a bar patron and damaging a door outside a Fargo bar. Police responded to the Bismarck Tavern around midnight after staff reported a disturbance and a weapon being confiscated. A witness told officers that Melroe had entered a nearby apartment building with a sword and fled out the back. Melroe was taken into custody at gunpoint and is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail.
