CBS News 24/7's WGAE Members Hold 24-Hour Walkout

Writers Guild of America East members at CBS News 24/7 are participating in a 24-hour walkout after their contract expired last week. The walkout is taking place at the CBS News Broadcast Center in Manhattan and KPIX-TV CBS News Bay Area in San Francisco. The union claims that management is refusing to provide fair wages and work protections for its journalists. The newsroom has undergone rounds of layoffs and buyouts and there are fears of further downsizing due to Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros.
