Brayan Lopez-Esparza has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the shooting death of his father, Jorge Lopez, in 2024. The shooting occurred during a disturbance between Lopez-Esparza's mother and her boyfriend, who was trying to pick up their child at the time. When Lopez became incensed, he pulled out a firearm and began shooting at the boyfriend's vehicle and the surrounding group. The final shot hit Lopez, who later died from his injuries. The San Antonio Police Department took Lopez-eparza into custody two days after the shooting.
