Jury finds man guilty of kidnapping, attempted rape of Salem 11-year-old

A Marion County jury has convicted Elijah Galaviz Arce of kidnapping, attempted rape, and attempted unlawful delivery of methamphetamine. The case began in August 2025 after an 11-year-old girl was reported missing from her home in Salem, Oregon. Police found her with Arce in a secluded area covered by vegetation. The girl's family expressed relief at the verdict, calling it a "sense of justice" and a "path toward healing".
