Kyle Manzardo, the first baseman for the Guardians, has hit his first home run of the season, a 454-foot solo homer off Braves starter Bryce Elder in the fourth inning. This is not the longest he's hit in the big leagues and marks his 13th personal home run. Despite this, Manzardo's performance has been inconsistent, with his ground-ball rate increasing from 30.3 to 47.8 percent in the past two weeks. His fly-ball and line-drive rates have also decreased. Manzardo believes he is getting rewarded more by hitting balls in the air more often.
