The cat, named "Garfield," may have been stuck for up to a week on Long Island Railroad tracks, according to medical experts. The Orange Tabby was struck by a train and then stuck between the 3rd rails, causing it to become necrotic and infected. It took a coordinated effort from the MTA, the Long Island Rail Authority, cat rescue experts, and doctors to rescue Garfield, who is recovering at Cat Kitten Solution after a long operation. The cat's injuries included two broken hind legs, one shattered front leg, and a fracture on his nasal bone so severe that it nearly penetrated the wall between his sinus and brain. After extensive rehab, Garfield is expected to find a new home where he will live out his 8 lives with no drama.
