A national poll by KFF has found that 32% of American adults have used artificial intelligence chatbots for health information in the past year. The survey, which polled over 1,300 adults, found that most users wanted quick answers and support, while 41% wanted to research before deciding whether to see a provider. However, affordability and access barriers were also cited as reasons for using AI, particularly among younger and lower-income users. Users earning less than $40,000 annually were more likely to cite health care costs and access issues. Despite this, privacy concerns remain widespread, with 75% of the public questioning the privacy of personal medical information provided to AI tools.
