Attorney Cierra Norris denied a motion for a change of venue for her client Xandria Harris' trial, stating that her client was not a material witness to the crime scene where two Bradley police officers were shot Dec. 29, 2021. Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and Officer Tyler Bailey were shot by Harris' boyfriend, Darius Sullivan, who was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court at the time. Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe had previously stated that he came to the scene of the crime but never disclosed this to the defense. Norris argued that Rowe's involvement in the case was inconsistent with case law.
