Jason Bacon, a man who had homes in both Clayton and Brick Township, New Jersey, was sentenced to 32 years in jail after being found guilty of several charges including possession of a firearm during a controlled period. The charges stem from a large greenhouse built behind a vacant house in Clayton and received large freight shipments of materials consistent with the illegal growing of marijuana. On April 26, 2018, authorities found the greenhouse and seized more than 25 pounds of marijuana, five pounds of hashish and hashish products, marijuana plants, and a loaded.25 caliber handgun. Bacon was taken into custody at the home in Brick and released in April 2019 under New Jersey Bail Reform.
