Durant hospital gift shop funds scholarships for health care students

Volunteers at Alliance Health Durant, Oklahoma, operate the gift shop as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All profits from the shop go towards scholarships for students pursuing health care careers. The program aims to draw health care workers back to the area. Volunteers such as Patty Green, Jill Gordon and Debra French keep the shop stocked with items beyond basic necessities. The shop is looking for additional volunteers.
