South Carolina commit Hayden Sujack sparked a two-run rally to give St. Charles East a 3-1 nonconference victory over Yorkville. Sujack and her teammates have a personalized walk-up song for their home games, "Cotton Eye Joe," which became popular worldwide in 1994. The song was played during the game by the Swedish Eurodance group Rednex and led to Sujack's second career home run of the season. This was her first time facing Yorkville pitcher Isabella Rosauer, who struck out 10 in her four innings. The Saints' coach, Jarod Gutesha, believes the team will improve this spring with the addition of senior pitcher Hannah Wulf.
