Johnathen Larsen, a 32-year-old man from Anchorage, has been indicted on second-degree murder and manslaughter charges related to the death of a resident at an assisted-living facility last month. Nicholas Thorne, 41, was found with severe head trauma and a significant amount of blood on the bed. Police determined that Larsen had hit Thorne with a blunt instrument. The investigation also revealed he had assaulted another resident on the same day, causing non-life-threatening injuries.
