US federal law enforcement to be present at Marine Corps graduation

U.S. federal law enforcement personnel will be present at an upcoming Marine Corps graduation, according to a message on the corps' Parris Island website. This move is described as the first of its kind in recent memory by the South Carolina base. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that ICE would not make any arrests at the event. The Parris island website did not specify what type of federal enforcement would be present, but stated that federal personnel would be there for security and logistics. The graduation will be held for recruits who complete a 13-week training program at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Is.
