Lebanon's Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, has accused Israel of war crimes following an airstrike in the south of the country that killed one journalist and seriously wounded another. The journalist, Amal Khalil, worked for Lebanon's Al Akhbar newspaper and is the fourth media worker slain by Israel in Lebanon since March. The strikes also killed several other people. Lebanese authorities accused Israeli forces of preventing emergency workers from rescuing the journalists. The Israeli military acknowledged that two journalists were injured but insisted it did not target journalists and acts to mitigate harm while protecting its troops. The attacks have been condemned by groups including the United Nations and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
