Three people were killed and 14 people were injured in a shooting in downtown Austin, Texas. The University of Texas President, Jim Davis, said members of the Longhorn family were among the victims and those impacted. The blood was donated from South Texas Blood & Tissue, which provided 160 units across the country after the shooting. The shooter, Ndiaga Diagne, was identified as a 53-year-old man originally from Senegal and a naturalized U.S. citizen. The FBI is investigating whether the shooting was motivated by terrorism. Governor Greg Abbott said the shooting would not define Texas nor shake the resolve of Texans. Abbott also directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to increase patrols in downtown and to monitor energy facilities, ports, and the southern border.
