Kosovo's highest court has barred the president from announcing a snap election date before March 31, extending a political crisis that has engulfed the country. This decision comes after lawmakers failed to elect a new head of state and leaves Kosovo without a functioning government for months. The Constitutional Court temporarily halted the parliament's efforts to elect such a new leader and extended the political deadlock until March 31. Prime Minister Albin Kurti had asked the court to rule on whether Osmani had acted in line with the constitution. The parliamentary election, if successful, would be the third in over a year.
