Bridgwater Community Hospital in Somerset offers work placements for individuals with learning disabilities to gain the skills they need to secure paid work. The internship is run by the hospital in partnership with the Somerset-based social enterprise Discovery, which supports young adults with learning difficulties, University Centre Somerset, and nearby nursing home Casa de Lusso. Harrison Small, who has autism, said securing a job at the hospital would be "life-changing". He managed shifts on his own and said the job is a "perfect match" for him.
