A survey conducted by the Ridgefield Public Safety Committee has found that while most residents agree current facilities are outdated, cost remains the primary barrier to support a similar proposal. The survey, conducted by Consultant Bob Walker, found that 35% of respondents would support a proposal if held today, compared to 39% who voted in favor in November. Another 43% remain undecided, while 22% would vote no. The study also found that total project cost, site cost and personal tax impact were the most important factors influencing voter decisions. The committee is currently working on three options: Constructing separate new facilities for police and fire, or exploring site feasibility.
