The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that only 67% of two-year-olds in Nevada born between 2021 and 2022 received all the shots recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The report also found that only 41% of toddlers born during this period received all their flu shots. Factors such as access to care, limited number of pediatricians in Southern Nevada, and social media influence parental decisions about vaccines. Experts suggest that vaccination rates should exceed about 95% for certain vaccination rates, which are considered herd immunity.
